A Short Bio of LeAnn
100 little babies lay three and four to a cardboard box, strapped in the belly of a gutted cargo jet. Saigon was falling to the communists – and LeAnn Thieman was “accidentally” caught up in the Vietnam Orphan Airlift. An ordinary person, she struggled through extraordinary circumstances and found the courage to succeed. Her book, This Must Be My Brother, details her daring adventure and her story and it’s messages have been featured in Newsweek Magazine’s Voices of the Century issue and PAX TV’s It’s A Miracle show, CNN, Fox-TV, BBC, and PBS to name a few. Negotiations are currently underway to produce her story as a Hollywood feature film!
Believing we all have individual “war zones,” LeAnn helps people focus on the importance of balance and the power of positivity. LeAnn receives many accolades from clients on her keynotes and seminars. While health organizations and women groups are an obvious “niche” for her keynote addresses and seminars, her audiences have grown to include all walks of life. Now cattlemen, contractors and corporate America appreciate her message. One CEO summed it up best when he said, “I’m going to live my life differently after hearing you today.”
A nurse for over 30 years, LeAnn is co-author of the New York Times best seller Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul, plus Chicken Soup for the Christian Woman’s Soul, Chicken Soup for the Caregiver’s Soul, Chicken Soup for the Father and Daughter Soul, Chicken Soup for the Grandma’s Soul, Chicken Soup for the Mother and Son Soul and Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul II. She also publishes a bimonthly electronic E-zine called “Sip of Soup” offering quick tips and insights to live a more balanced life in today’s fast-paced world.
LeAnn lives with her husband Mark in Colorado, where they enjoy their “empty nest.” Two daughters, Angela and Christie, and son Mitch have all “flown the coop.” When LeAnn isn’t speaking and writing, she balances her life with church, gardening, enjoying her three grandchildren and hiking in the beautiful foothills and mountains near her home.
