Position Overview

BUSINESS ANALYST
FULL-TIME – TEMPORARY
(One Year Term)
MARKHAM

Reporting to the VP of Business Capabilities, as a Business Analyst you will facilitate analysis of information to increase efficiency and effectiveness of Operations. Working closely with functional teams, including Finance, Human Resources and IS, you have strong communication skills and extensive experience in working with business experts to determine business requirements, information analysis, and solution implementations within a variety of environments.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Business and or Computer Science degree
• 3-5+ years experience in a BA role or Decision Support role
• Excellent knowledge of business analysis techniques
• Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail; capacity to assign priorities to multiple competing and important activities under tight deadlines
• High level of initiative, decisiveness and business acumen
• Possess a strong blend of business and technical knowledge related to information management
• Outstanding leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in computer skills (MS word, excel, project, internet, email) at intermediate level
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement continuous improvements in business processes
• A strong teamwork orientation and the ability to work with cross functional teams and all management levels
• Previous experience training both face-to-face and virtually an asset
• Project management experience in delivery of solutions is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Track, analyze and report on current information against operational KPIs to determine improvement opportunities
• Design and execute improvement opportunity plans
• Assist with determining product strategies, and implementation plans
• Assist in defining requirements and innovative solutions based on business need and improvement opportunities; participate in establishing structure and standards for business requirements, definition and collection
• Work closely with business users to ensure that the solution meets their business objectives
• Provide support and consultation to business areas to provide or develop effective information resources; contribute to the QA function (audit and validation) in test design and execution phases
• Provide training and support on the use of information management systems and services
