Application Programmer Analyst II - Ambulatory EMR Clinical Analyst - Information Technology (CH)

Position Overview

Application Programmer Analyst II – Ambulatory EMR Clinical Analyst - Information Technology (Catholic Health):
The Ambulatory EMR Clinical Analyst will implement and support the new Electronic Medical Record in the Catholic Health primary care sites.

Key responsibilities include:
- Identify and implement technical solutions for primary care sites.
- Conduct workflow analysis and optimize workflows to leverage system capabilities.
- Implementation, training, system maintenance, management support and trouble-shooting.
- Provide technical and functional analysis, system building, code writing, and support during system implementation.
- Troubleshoot problems and issues with systems and software, analyze issues, perform and document resolution, and respond to customer requests.
- Provide primary support responsibility for application specific projects.

REPORTS TO: Vice President Information Technology or designated IS Director/Manager

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

Education:
· College Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field strongly preferred; or 6-8 years equivalent experience.
· BS in Nursing with 3-5 years ambulatory nurse experience, or Associates Degree or Nursing Diploma with 6-8 years ambulatory nurse experience preferred
· Alternately, be a graduate of related health care specialty program such as Med Tech, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy with 3-5 years experience, preferably in an ambulatory health care setting.

Experience:
· Implementation experience with leading ambulatory EMRs (Allscripts, Epic, eClinicalWorks, GE, etc) strongly preferred.
· Extensive computer experience, with personal computer applications and larger system implementation desired.
· Project management experience desired.
· 2-3 years of healthcare information systems experience highly recommended.
· Candidates should also be familiar with patient care processes in an ambulatory setting.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (TECHNICAL/PHYSICAL):

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
· Willingness to attend EMR training, some at vendor site.
· Demonstrated skills with personal computer applications, including Windows, MicroSoft Office applications.
· Good organizational and analytical skills.
· Ability to establish good working relationships with medical staff at all levels.
· Ability and means to travel among CHS sites, including valid NYS drivers license.
· Demonstrated track record of project and system documentation.
· Demonstrated track record of facilitating discussions and decision making.
· Demonstrated ability to proactively analyze and anticipate impacts of any changes or modifications, technical or operational to a complex environment.
