Position Title

Data Specialist, Quality & Patient Safety (CH)

Position Overview

Data Specialist, Quality and Patient Safety (Catholic Health): To assist and extend the effectiveness of the quality and patient safety provided by Catholic Health by reviewing, abstracting & entering highly- sensitive, confidential data into the voluntary and mandatory registries.

REPORTS TO: Invasive and Non-Invasive Data Center Managers, Quality & Patient Safety

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

Education/ Experience:

· Graduate from accredited Registered Professional Nursing Program OR Graduate from B.S Program

AND

· Two years experience required in specialty areas of neuroscience, vascular, cardiac surgery, cardiology and invasive & interventional cardiology preferred

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
· Strong critical thinking skills, analytical and problem soling skills
· Ability to use independent judgment
· Strong Medical Terminology, especially in specialty areas of: neuroscience, vascular, cardiac surgery & diagnostic, invasive & interventional cardiology
· Strong Computer Skills
· Experience in Word, Excel & Access


WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Travel between Catholic Health facilities will be required
· Reviews records and enters data into a computer on a daily basis.
· Must be able to prioritize work in a frequently changing work environment.
