Ambassador - Dietary (SOCH)

Position Overview

Ambassador – Dietary (SOCH):
Promotes and maintains a positive service culture. Performs a variety of duties to include serving meals to patients, residents, and visitors in a professional and efficient manner. Gives patients instructions on how to use the meal ordering system. Obtains and places patient and resident meal orders. Assesses patient’s capabilities to adequately communicate meal orders. Assists in processing diet orders, admissions, discharges and transfers. Utilizes office computers. Follows safe food handling procedures. Transports meals and supplies to various destinations according to Supervisors requests. Participates in preparation and delivery of special functions. Maintains all storage and work areas in a clean, neat and organized manner in accordance with established guidelines. Adheres to the Values in Practice initiatives.

Clinical Nutrition Manager, Food Supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
N/A

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE: Food Service experience strongly preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
· Ability to read and write English, follow oral and written instructions
· Ability to clearly and effectively communicate
· Ability to tell time and read a clock
· Ability to perform basic Math functions
· Strong customer service skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Pushes/pulls, moves/lifts equipment/supplies. Manual dexterity and mobility required. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
· Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment.
· Exposed to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals.
· Subject to hazards of flammable, explosive gases.
